Named one of Sudbury’s Top 40 under Forty individuals by Northern Ontario Business, Emily holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree (cum laude) from Laurentian University, the Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant designations, and a post-designation specialization in Canadian income taxation through CPA Canada. She primarily works with owner-managed private businesses to provide accounting, business, and taxation advice.
Having grown up in an underprivileged family, Emily is committed to making a difference in her community through the sharing of her expertise, time, and resources. A lifelong learner, Emily has authored many articles on the topics of individual and corporate taxation, has led and taught internal and public seminars on a variety of topics, and has appeared as a guest on an Eastlink television show to discuss tax issues for the aging population and their supporting family members. In her day-to-day practice, she continuously strives to be a forward-thinking thought leader, saver of income tax, trusted business advisor & compliance master. She likes her clients to think of her as “not your typical accountant”.
Outside of work and volunteerism, Emily enjoys hiking, fishing, and kayaking with her husband, Ken, and dog, Xena, as well as writing and spending quality time with loved ones.
